In Nigeria, pepper sauce or stew is a popular delicacy served in most restaurants, and it is commonly called “Atadindin,.” You can prepare it with the main ingredient of pepper, onions, fish, and meat.
It is a widely known fact that the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria loves an exorbitant amount of pepper in their dishes, and it’s no surprise that this side dish originates from them as well. Eggs, Beef, and Cow tripe are sometimes added to the stew. Making stew/sauce is quite easy, and this one is no exception.

MAKING YOUR NIGERIAN PEPPER SAUCE

- Heat the palm oil and add the onions. Leave to cook the onions for about 5 minutes.
- Add the blended sauce, and leave to cook for about 15 to 20 minutes (constantly stir to avoid burning)
- Add the crayfish, salt, stock cube, thyme, locust beans, and beef. Leave to steam for another 5 minutes
You can serve your Pepper Sauce or Stew with a side dish like Rice or yam. Moreover, you could use your pepper sauce to make your Nigerian peppered chicken, Jollof rice, and also enjoy roasted Nigerian roasted plantain (Bole). However, other dishes you can try out include Nigerian fish stew, Yam and catfish pepper soup, and Nkwobi
