Ever wondered how to make peppered chicken at home?
Owanbes can be interesting triggers to this craving. Guess what! We are all in for it too๐, you are not alone on the table.
Letโs get to it, shall we?
Are you making the peppered chicken for a party, family hang-out, office bonding session, or birthday party? Peppered chicken is that delicious delicacy loved by you, me, and many others in Nigeria and overseas. In Nigeria, you will mostly find such at parties. It is fried chicken dipped in pepper sauce, a well-enjoyed finger food served at parties, and can be used as a side dish for meals like rice, etc.
The great thing is you donโt even have to do extra, going out and buying so much. You could literally pick up foundational ingredients that you already have in your kitchen and fire on. Peppered chicken is definitely that great snack to munch on while seeing a movie, a football match, during a girlsโ/boysโ night out, etc.
INGREDIENTS
- Chicken
- Tomato
- Scotch bonnet pepper (Atarodo)
- Large red peppers (tatashe)

PREPARING YOUR PEPPERED CHICKEN
- Cut your Chicken to your desired size.

- While leaving your chicken to marinate, blend your pepper.
- After marinating your chicken, add some water, cover it and leave to cook till tender.

- Pour your medium fried chicken into your tomato sauce and stir for some minutes
- Take it down, and your peppered chicken is readyย
Peppered chicken is a great meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can have this recipe with rice, yam, and plantain. However, a lot of people believe NIgerian peppered chicken is spicy, but you can try it out with minimum scotch bonnet pepper to make it less spicy. Aside from peppered chicken, you can try other side dishes, like Nigerian fish stew, Yam and fish pepper soup, and Nkwobi.
