HOW TO MAKE ROASTED WHOLE CHICKEN

In parts of the world where thanksgiving is celebrated, roasted whole chicken is usually on menu, and is basically now an agelong traditional delicacy. As difficult as it might sound roasting a whole chicken, it’s quite easy and there are simple ways this can be done. 

INGREDIENTS

  • a whole chicken preferably a broiler
  • Ginger, garlic 
  • Curd
  • Salt 
  • vegetable oil
  • Chopped onions
  • Chopped tomatoes
  • chicken stock
  • chicken cube 
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce salt and pepper – to taste

MAKING YOUR ROASTED WHOLE CHICKEN

  • Marinate the chicken with the curd, add in ginger garlic paste, and salt for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Heat the chicken stock in a medium pan, In a pot of heated oil, add onions and fry till it’s golden brown.
  • Add tomatoes and cook till soft, remove the contents in the pot and add to the pan containing chicken stock.
  • Add salt and pepper, and add the Worcestershire sauce as well.
  • Remove it to a plate and put the whole chicken into the pot and let it brown
  • Add a cup of water, and let it cook for 20-30 minutes.

Roast chicken can be eaten with some rice, vegetables, or potatoes. You can also try out some of these dishes, Fried rice, Nigerian rice salad, Jollof rice, Roasted Chicken, and Nigerian coconut rice.
