HOW TO MAKE SAUSAGE ROLLS WITHOUT AN OVEN

Sausage rolls are one of the most common snacks made by well-known brands, some of which include Rite, Gala, Super bite, and Bigi. They are extra tasty with a rich sausage filling and tantalizing spice. However, sausage rolls are also sold at eateries and restaurants. You can also make sausage rolls at home.

Sausage rolls are shaped into twisted rolls of dough, that are yellow and gold with a lump of sausage meat stuck deliciously in the middle of the roll.

INGREDIENT

  • Butter
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Thyme
  • Sausage meat 
  • Ground beef
  • Salt
  • Black pepper 
  • Puff pastry, thawed
  • Egg (Beaten)

MAKING YOUR SAUSAGE ROLLS

  • Preheat the oven to 400 °F (204 °C) 
  • Sprinkle a little flour on your counter and Place about 2 sheets of thawed puff pastry on the counter.
  • Using a rolling pin, make your puff pastry into a rectangle.
  • Cut this big rectangle into little rectangles, to about 16 in number. 
  • Cut the sausage beef into 16 rod-like places and in length should not be longer than the pastry rectangles. Beat 1 egg and cut 8 short sausages in half lengthwise. 
  • Crack an egg into a small bowl and beat it with a fork and set the bowl aside 
  • Dip the brush in the beaten egg, and brush one end of each rectangle. The egg will help seal the pastry 
  • Season the sausage with thyme, salt, and pepper. 
  • Roll each rectangle over the sausages the beaten egg will help to seal the sausage.
  • Put the sausage in the freezer and allow it to harden. 
  • Take it out of the freezer and use a sharp knife and cut across the surface of the sausages in three short strokes, it shouldn’t go past the first surface layer of the sausage. Then dip the pastry brush in the beaten egg again and brush on the surface.
  • Put in the preheated oven and cook the rolls until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.

Remove the sausage rolls and serve them while they’re still warm, if you prefer them cold, they can be eaten with milk, or chilled juice like fresh orange juice, or Zobo. Other snacks you will want to try out include Puff Puff, Sausage rolls, Meat pie, Fish Pie, Scotched eggs, Buns, and egg rolls.
